How We Handle Disabled Bays
At UKPC we believe that one of its most important and primary functions, is to rigorously comply with the Government Disability Discriminations Act and/or British Parking Associations requirements and legislations. This includes adhering to any published codes of practise and the training and development of all employees to ensure these standards are consistently met.
We are always flexible and will only apply Parking Charges to vehicles which are not appropriately parked upon our clients request. This is usually for anyone parking in a marked disabled bay without displaying a valid disabled parking permit.
We always check vehicles carefully for a permit. If one is not visible we would issue a ticket but upon the production of a copy of a blue badge the ticket will automatically be cancelled.
Finally, our wardens often assist the elderly or disabled members of the public by dropping them off to their cars in the car park.
Our Company Policy on Disabled Parking
- We do not apply Parking Charges to the vehicles of disabled badge holders for staying over the time limit allowed by the client.
- If no valid disabled badge is on display when parked in a disabled bay, a parking charge will be issued to the vehicle. This will automatically be cancelled on the production of a copy of the owner's blue badge.
